Evaluation of the Connections Project
NDARC Staff
Dr. Kristy Martire
Aims
To analyse existing Connections Project data to:
a) describe Connections patients and change over time;
b) describe major domains of service delivery; c)report characteristics and predictors of project completers and non-completers; and
d) to report on reincarceration and participation in community Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP).
Design and Method
Analysis of the existing Connections dataset was undertaken in order to fulfill the aims of the project. The report was based upon data available from 829 patients assessed for Connections eligibility, 285 of whom also completed post-participation questionnaires. Reincarceration and OTP participation data were also available for 843 and 725 of these patients respectively. Results were reported on the basis of gender and Indigenous status, as well as program completion status. Regression analyses were conducted to predict completion status and amount of time spent in the community post-release.
Progress
The draft evaluation report is currently under review.
