Information and Education
The
NDARC Education Trust (NET) is a separate arm of NDARC that specialises in providing education, resources and training to a variety of audiences. Some of the groups that have benefited from NET's services include alcohol and other drug workers, teachers, law enforcement personnel and local government workers.
One of the key roles of NET has been the development and distribution of resources. Over the years NDARC and NET have developed an highly successful series of
resources which have proven popular with both workers in the field, as well as drug users.
The
NDARC Seminar Series consists of a monthly invited seminar, alternating with in-house seminars. The series is an effective way of disseminating the results of current projects conducted by both NDARC staff and other organisations. Over the years, NDARC seminars have also attracted a number of overseas speakers.
NDARC is not primarily an information centre and has a limited ability to provide drug information to the general public. However, due to great demand NDARC has produced a useful series of
fact sheets on a range of drugs.
If you are in need of specific drug information and/or resources you will need to contact the
alcohol and drug information service in your state and territory. These services are staffed by trained counsellors who can assist you with information, appropriate treatment and counselling.
