E-Health

The potential for prevention and improved health outcomes through internet interventions is a new frontier in drug and alcohol treatment, prevention and research. NDARC’s E-Health group aims to develop internet-based research in the addictions through the development and evaluation of new internet-based interventions and the use of the internet to monitor drug and alcohol related harms.
About the Group

NDARC’s E-health group is a consortium of researchers with a broad range of expertise in drug and alcohol research including prevention, treatment, statistical analysis and epidemiology. Building on existing success in developing internet based treatments, including the award winning SHADE and CLIMATE programs, the group is committed to harnessing the power of the internet to provide rigorously evaluated treatment and prevention programs for drug and alcohol use disorders, including related mental and physical health comorbidities. The group’s main areas of focus are:

  • Use of the internet to monitor drug and alcohol harms

  • Development of new internet based treatments

  • Evaluation of new internet based prevention interventions

  • Provision of links to internet based treatment trials and assessments

  • Online data collection
