National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre PhD student Mieke Snijder recently gave an interview to ABC Riverina about a new project aimed to help decrease alcohol related injury and violence in Indigenous communities in Griffith. Some of the programs they are evaluating include a midnight basketball program aimed at involving youngsters in engaging activities at high-risk times and family empowerment programs. Similar programs are being run in Narrandera, Murrin Bridge and Lake Cargelligo.
