Bio

Dr Emma Barrett joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre in March, 2007. Her PhD examining the relationship between substance use disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and aggression was awarded in 2012. She is currently a Research Fellow and registered Forensic Psychologist at the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Mental Health and Substance Use (CREMS). Dr Barrett has experience in the conduct and co-ordination randomised controlled trials and her areas of interest include the treatment of comorbid substance use and mental health disorders and the associated harms. She has a strong interest in the clinical and forensic implications of comorbidity, particularly in relation to comorbid substance use disorder and post traumatic stress disorder.
