Emma Barrett joined NDARC in March 2007. She is currently employed as a Research Associate and is working on an NHMRC funded randomised controlled trial of a substance use prevention program in adolescents. Emma is also involved in a research project that evaluates a psychological intervention for comorbid substance use disorder and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among prisoners. Emma will be submitting her PhD thesis in 2011 which examines anger and violence among substance users with comorbid PTSD. Emma is a registered Forensic Psychologist, and her areas of interest include substance use prevention, treatment of comorbid mental health disorders and mental health treatment in forensic settings.
