This introductory workshop provides a step-by-step, hands-on learning experience that will equip the
participant with the basic tools to conduct a high-quality systematic review and meta-analysis.

The course will be delivered in an informal, hands-on environment. Participants will need to bring their
own laptop (Mac or PC) with the requested software which is freely available for download.

Day 1:
• Why conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis
• Submitting a protocol
• Searching the literature
• Managing search results
• Extracting data
• Quality assessing included studies
• Reporting guidelines for publication

Day 2:
• Choosing effect sizes, statistical models and methods
• Data entry and analysis using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis 3 (CMA3)
• Assessing moderators
• Assessing heterogeneity
• Assessing publication bias
• Quality assessing the pooled evidence
