NDARC’s Dr Dennis Thomas was selected to participate in the inaugural 2017 UNSW India Research Roadshow which took place on 20-24 November 2017.

Dr Thomas travelled to Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai with a group of researchers to showcase UNSW’s capabilities in global health, smart cities, social entrepreneurship, and water and the environment.

Participants attended workshops with matched researchers and potential industry collaborators at key institutions, making new connections and strengthening existing relationships.

It is expected that the Research Roadshow will result in the identification or consolidation of opportunities that will lead to future collaborative research partnerships with academic, industry and government partners.

For more than six years Dr Thomas’s research has focused on tobacco control. His current research is focused on reducing smoking rates via the evaluation of new cost-effective interventions including affordable medications, innovative low cost and high reach technology based interventions, and system change interventions.

The Research Roadshow was held as part of UNSW’s India Strategy.
