Congratulations to Professor Maree Teesson who has been named among the winners of The Australian Financial Review and Westpac’s 2014 100 Women of Influence Awards.
Professor Teesson was one of 10 women named in the ‘Innovation’ award category.
The annual awards showcase the country’s highest-achieving women across 10 categories – board/management, innovation, public policy, business entrepreneur, diversity, young leader, global, social enterprise or not-for-profit, philanthropy and local/regional.
The winners were chosen from a diverse range of candidates including scientists, doctors, creative directors, journalists, executives and humanitarians, whittled down over six weeks by a nine-member judging panel.
An overall winner will be announced at an awards night on October 22.
The win follows Professor Teesson’s receipt in September of the 2014 Eureka Prize for Outstanding Mentor of Young Researchers.
