NDARC will play host to Iain McGregor on Thursday 6 December when the Professor of Psychopharmacology will present his latest work on trends in prescription drug use in Australia. The University of Sydney academic will draw material from his new publication, Meds for heads, a guide to psychotropic drugs (that is, drugs that act on the brain, e.g. antidepressants). Those in the drug & and alcohol field interested in attending are more than welcome to come along.

Professor McGregor is an ARC Professorial Fellow and the director of the Psychopharmacology Laboratory in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on the effects of prescription and recreational drugs on behaviour and brain function, with a particular interest in the long term effects of addictive drugs and alcohol, and the development and pharmacological treatment of anxiety disorders and depression.
