Thoughts of Substance podcast interviews leading drug and alcohol researchers

A new podcast from The Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) Early Career Researcher (ECR) subcommittee will cover a range of topics in the drug and alcohol sector.

In each Thoughts of Substance episode, listeners will hear members of the ECR subcommittee interview professionals in the field about a range of topics and disciplines that are of particular relevance to ECRs.

The first episodes focus on previous winners of the APSAD Early Career Award who discuss their careers and current research.

Episodes one and two are now available online via SoundCloud.

Episode one:
On this episode, NDARC’s Dr Chris Marel is joined by Dr Suzanne Nielsen winner of the 2011 Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs (APSAD) Early Career Researcher Award.

Dr Nielsen currently works at NDARC and is focussed on identifying and responding to prescription and over-the-counter drug related problems.

Episode two:
On this episode, NDARC’s Dr Amy Peacock is joined by Dr Sarah Larney, winner of the 2014 Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs (APSAD) Early Career Researcher Award.

Dr Larney is a Senior Research Fellow at NDARC, conducting epidemiological research related to injecting drug use and related problems.
