Kendal Chidwick is a pharmacist and epidemiologist at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, UNSW Sydney.  With 20 years of experience working in health, including over 10 years in research, she is passionate about maximizing the use, and linkage, of administrative datasets for research to inform policy decisions and improve health.  She is currently working on projects to describe trends in Australian sales of opioids and opioid agonist treatment medicines, the impact of the introduction of long-acting injectable buprenorphine and initiation of opioids post-hospital.  Prior to this Kendal led the MedicineInsight Real World Research team at NPS MedicineWise and worked at the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) at the MHRA. Much of her experience comes from leading drug utilization, post-market surveillance and population health research based on linked general practice data for the Australian Government Department of Health, Drug Utilisation Sub Committee (DUSC) of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC), TGA and other policy makers. Kendal was a member of the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce Observational Data Working Group (2020-2021).
