Wing is a Research Fellow at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), UNSW Sydney. Wing completed her PhD in Public Health and Community Medicine at NDARC in 2022. Her doctoral research examined trajectories of alcohol-related harm in young people using a variety of datasets, including a longitudinal cohort, linked administrative cohort, and cross-sectional national surveys. Wing's research interests include examining trends, trajectories, and predictors of alcohol and other substance-related harm in young people and LGBTQ+ people. She is involved in the following projects:

  • The Study Of Drinking and health Among LGBTQ+ people (SODA+), a project in collaboration with ACON and Cancer Institute NSW that examines alcohol-related behaviours and knowledge of alcohol-related health risks, particularly cancer risk, among LGBTQ+ adults.
  • The Australian Parental Supply of Alcohol Longitudinal Study (APSALS), one of the longest-running longitudinal cohort studies of the effects of parental and other secondary supply of alcohol on alcohol use and related outcomes in young people.
  • The Data-linkage Alcohol Cohort Study (DACS), a retrospective linked cohort of people who presented to emergency department and/or hospital inpatient services in NSW with an alcohol-related problem.
