Project Main Description: 

This project aims To assess the psychometric properties of the Cannabis Withdrawal Scale (CWS) and to further assess the reliability and validity of the measure for use in clinical and research settings. 

Rationale: 

To further ascertain the validity of the Cannabis Withdrawal Scale.

Aims: 

To assess the psychometric properties of the Cannwereabis Withdrawal Scale (CWS) to further assess the reliability and validity of the measure for use in clinical and research settings. 

Design and Method: 

A sample of 300 cannabis users wanting to cut down/quit their cannabis use will be recruited through Facebook advertising to a web-based study. Participants will then be screened and those meeting the inclusion criteria will be assessed enrolled with their consent. They will complete the CWS daily for 7 days and be followed-up at D28. 

Progress/Update: 

The project has been approved by the UNSW Ethics Committee. Participant recruitment concluded in June 2016 and data is currently being analysed.

Benefits: 

A valid and reliable measure of cannabis withdrawal.
