The Illicit Drug Reporting System (IDRS) is a national drug monitoring system intended to identify emerging trends of local and national concern in illicit drug markets, and forms part of Drug Trends.
Research has revealed that smoking methamphetamine is an increasingly favoured route of administration, but information about smoking practices and equipment is lacking. We asked respondents in the 2019 IDRS about their experiences smoking crystal methamphetamine, and what they did when they could not source a commercial ball pipe.
