Driving under the influence of illicit drugs and/or alcohol is a serious road safety concern. This Bulletin reports on interview data of people who regularly inject drugs and people who regularly use ecstasy and other illicit stimulants collected in Canberra between 2007-2018. In particular, this bulletin describes trends in driving after using alcohol and illicit drugs, exposures to roadside breath and drug testing, and perceptions of accident risk and risk of police apprehension when driving after consuming alcohol and illicit drugs.
