The Illicit Drug Reporting System (IDRS) and the Ecstasy and Related Drugs Reporting System (EDRS) are national drug monitoring systems intended to identify emerging trends of local and national concern in illicit drug markets, and forms part of Drug Trends.
People who attend music festivals are more likely to report illicit drug use than the general population, and festivals maybe higher risk environments for experience of drug-related harms, however there has been limited research exploring patron awareness of initiatives at festivals that promote their safety. This paper addresses this research gap by asking respondents from the EDRS about their recent experiences at music festivals, and their awareness and engagement with policing and health efforts at festivals.
