People who inject drugs are frequently affected by skin and soft tissue infections, which is associated with a number of health implications. The use of alcohol swabs to clean injecting sites may assist in reducing the incidence of skin and soft tissue infections.

This bulletin reports on the percentage of PWID nationally who reported swabbing at last injection, and among those who didn’t use a swab, the reasons behind this.
