Samantha joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre in 2016 as a Research Assistant. She worked on a series of ongoing systematic reviews that investigated the global prevalence of injecting drug use, as well as sociodemographic characteristics and blood borne virus prevalence among people who inject drugs (PWID). She commenced her PhD in 2018, continuing to expand on this body of work. She has investigated non-fatal overdose, mental health disorders, self-harm, and injecting-related diseases among PWID. She submitted her PhD in February 2022.

Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychological Science in 2015 (2A Honours)

Research activities: 

Samantha is working on a range of projects, including a large multi-stage global systematic review on the prevalence of injecting drug use and the coverage of interventions that target people who inject drugs. She is assisting with publications using linked administrative datasets of people who are opioid dependent in New South Wales. She is also leading a project investigating the global prevalence of gambling and the incidence of harms related to gambling.
