With substantial government support and public interest in supporting research into psychedelic psychotherapy, Australia is well positioned to start conducting such trials. This presentation will describe the development of a world first Australian trial to study psilocybin psychotherapy for methamphetamine use disorder, from inception to readiness to recruit participants. It will also explore the rationale for psilocybin psychotherapy for this indication.
